This site is for those of you with connections to Wanganui to share stories and memories associated with Kowhai Park. Iconic and timeless, this children’s playground and surrounding domain nestled alongside the Whanganui River is unquestionably an important slice of Wanganui’s cultural history.
The Project
Some of the stories and images you will see posted to this site have been provided by people associated with the planning and construction of the park. Others are from people who have grown up with the park in their neighbourhood, whose own children and grandchildren continue to play there today.
